Crypto currencies in Prague

According to “ekonom.cz”, there were already tens of thousands of crypto users in the Czech Republic at the beginning of 2017. Today, one year later, this number is likely to have increased significantly in terms of the state of developments. The website “420on.cz” reported that there were more than 20 people in the Czech Republic who had computer chips implanted to process Bitcoin transactions, among other things. This is very easy, especially in the state capital Prague. More than 80 shops support the payment in Bitcoin. In cafés, restaurants, hotels and even at the private university “CEVRO Institute”, payments can be made with both fiat money and crypto currencies. The electronic shop “Alza” will even allow Ethereum and Litecoin as means of payment in the future. This will be made possible by payment system providers such as “Bitcoinpay”, which cooperate with numerous shops. Users must either purchase a crypto debit card. This type of payment is becoming increasingly popular among crypto fans. Another possibility is the use of “Gopay”, an equivalent of the payment system provider “Paypal”, which is very popular especially in the Czech Republic.

Due to the popularity of crypto currencies in the Czech Republic, many crypto and blockchain startups are settling there in order to be able to market their products more easily. The Czech Republic and Prague in particular are pioneers when it comes to innovations and the dissemination of crypto currencies. The country is thus definitely seen as a role model for other countries trying to make them more popular. It is often the governments that delay essential economic and technical development through their regulations.
