Hotels, car rental companies, restaurants and most local shops accept all major credit cards and often the Maestro Card. You can withdraw cash at ATMs with a card and a secret number. Banks change the most common currencies.

Medical care meets western standards. Preventive vaccinations are not necessary. However, a yellow fever vaccination is necessary if one enters from an infection area. Drinking water is obtained in seawater desalination plants. It is clear and refreshing and always available in sufficient.

Hotels

Of course there are all-inclusive offers on the islands, but they are not a “must”. Because on the islands there is very good and varied cooking. So just let yourself be seduced. Traffic

The minimum age for the driver is 21 years. There are right-hand traffic and international traffic signs, but some different traffic rules apply. So, if you rent a car, let us give you a brief introduction.

  • There are cheap bus connections to all parts of the respective island.
  • Taxis do not have taximeters. Fixed fares should be confirmed before the start of the journey.
  • Between the islands there are several airplanes daily, between St. Maarten and Saba also a passenger ferry.
